Current Priorities

The Parkway Council Board of Directors identified their major priorities for 2009-2010, and they include:

• Supporting various long-term enhancements on the Parkway
• Conducting studies, funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, in the areas of:
• Increasing cultural activity in the Parkway area, and
• Revisiting previous design and flow studies of the west end of the Parkway (specifically Eakins Oval, and the intersection of 25th Street and Pennsylvania Ave.)
• Establishing Parkway Museums District as our brand, through our printed (on on-line) brochure, this new web site, our Facebook page, and other strategies.
• Working closely with Mayor Nutter’s administration, particularly around Parkway planning, homelessness, events, and transportation.   
• Fundraising to support our various initiatives will also be critical.
