  • Academy of Natural Sciences

    Town Square is a series of free lectures, forums and panel discussions that brings together experts, stakeholders, and the public for discussions of critical environmental and scientific topics. Check online for frequent updates or register to receive electronic updates.

    Urban Sustainability Forums are monthly programs featuring local, national and international experts on a range of sustainability issues. These forums are typically held on the third Thursday of the month and are free and open to the public. Check online for frequent updates.

    Science On Tap is a free monthly informal science café series in partnership with the American Philosophical Society Chemical Heritage Foundation, Mütter Museum of The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, and the Wagner Free Institute of Science. Science on Tap takes place at National Mechanics Bar & Restaurant 22 South 3rd Street in Old City.

    Workshops, Classes, Field Studies:  Each month offers a different opportunity for adults to learn more about nature and science through hands-on workshops, classes and field studies with Academy scientists. Collect insects in the Pine Barrens of N.J.; learn how to draw dinosaurs, examine birds-of-prey up close. Check often for the on-line schedule.

  • Center City District

    Center City District frequently plans events and special promotions (Restaurant Weeks, Center City Sips) throughout the year, and also maintains an events calendar for all of Center City.  Sign up for their e-mail newsletter, and stay on top of the many activities.

  • Franklin Institute

    All exhibitions are adult-friendly, plus, see a movie in our Tuttleman IMAX Theater!  Visit our site for the full schedule of evening programming including night time observatory opportunities and lectures.

    Lectures: The Franklin Institute hosts lectures and panel discussions on hot topics in science, including medicine and astronomy.
