Founded in 1824, this Philadelphia institution at 20th & the Parkway features three floors and a brand new expansion full of interactive science exhibitions, 3D and IMAX Theaters, and a Planetarium that inspire a passion for learning about science and technology in everyone! Discover how science can help take you the extra mile at SportsZone, the newest permanent exhibit that explores how sports connects the science of the human body, laws of motion and technical innovation with high-energy experiences like a surfboard challenge and interactive pitching cage. Also see Vatican Splendors, making its only East Coast stop at The Franklin Institute through February 15, 2016.

Exhibitions: The Franklin Institute is home to three floors of interactive exhibitions and plays host to some of the most popular traveling exhibitions in the world! Watch for the latest exhibition schedule on http://www.fi.edu/.

Lectures: The Franklin Institute hosts lectures and panel discussions on hot topics in science including medicine and astronomy.

Public events: The Franklin Institute’s popular Night Skies in the Observatory is hosted by Chief Astronomer at The Franklin Institute, Derrick Pitts.  On the second Thursday of each month, the rooftop Joel N. Bloom Observatory remains open late and offers 5 different telescopes for you to view celestial objects in the sky, including stars, planets, nebulae, and if conditions are right, a galaxy or two.
